Jennifer Gourlie
Faculty Research Assistant
My work in the program includes setting up, planting, collecting data and harvesting experiments to provide greater understandings of Fusarium crown rot, root lesion nematodes and cereal cyst nematodes. Most of these trials are performed in the field, greenhouse and/or outdoor sand-bed nursery. Greatest emphasis is currently on greenhouse trials to identify resistance of wheat and barley cultivars to species of root-lesion nematodes and cereal cyst nematodes. I also maintain greenhouse and laboratory cultures to rear nematode populations for use as inoculum. My lab duties also include maintaining cultures of fungi in the laboratory.

Personal Information
I grew up and currently live in Pilot Rock with my husband, James, and 1 ½ year old son Deacon. After previously working at CBARC, I took a slight detour and moved to New Orleans, La, where my husband was a police officer. Good food, good music, worst natural disaster in the country’s history. It was exciting to say the least! In my spare time (ha, ha) I like to garden, read, and spend time with family.
